If you’re a frequent reader of my blog then you’ll know that I’m absolutely loving that orange is big this season because it’s my second favourite colour. You may not know, however, that Olivia Palermo is one of my biggest style icons (I mean come on! Who wouldn’t want to have her wardrobe and dress like her!?). When I saw this photo of Olivia in a leopard print blouse and orange trousers with black boots I knew that I NEEDED to copy this outfit…so I did.
If you want to recreate this look yourself then don’t be afraid of colour! Admittedly it does take confidence to strut around in bright orange trousers which scream “Hey look at me! Look at me! I’m here!” and on days when I’m not feeling my best, i.e. I have a huge spot on my cheek or I’m having a particularly bad hair day then I do stay well away from ‘in your face’ colours because quite frankly those days knock my confidence to the ground.
If you really don’t have the confidence to try this style then start off small, try painting your nails bright orange or try camel/beige coloured jeans/trousers, a leopard print top and an orange bag. Anything to get you used to bright colours and patterns.
Try mixing and matching different colours with patterns. Just because you’re wearing a pattern doesn’t mean the rest of your clothing has to be toned down, you can go as crazy as you want just as long as it’s done right. Don’t just try animal print with orange, try zebra print with cobalt blue or snake print with fuchsia.
Finally, on an unrelated note, I just wanted to say that I’m so overwhelmed by all the new followers, comments, tweets, emails and so on recently! You guys are so supportive and so completely lovely to me and I appreciate everything so much, so thank you!!!
